Choosing which CRM fields belong on a pipeline board
Not every CRM field deserves a column. Here is a practical filter for B2B pipeline dashboards used in weekly reviews.
CRM administrators often ask for every custom field on the pipeline board. The result is horizontal scrolling and skipped columns. Weekly reviews need fields that change decisions in under ten seconds.
Keep: stage, amount, close date, owner, days in stage, next step date, and primary account. Add industry or segment only if managers filter by it every week.
Leave off marketing source detail, long notes, and product line breakdowns unless the meeting’s sole purpose is mix analysis. Those belong on drill-down account analytics views.
Content Cornerhub’s dashboard builds start with a field audit against three recorded pipeline meetings. If a field was never mentioned, it stays off the board.
When leadership insists on extra columns, place them on a secondary view rather than the primary board. Protect the meeting’s pace.
